Sly smirks mingle with deep mental (chemical?) fogs on each side of Natural Disaster, the first non-tape release for Church Shuttle, and a nice intro to what his whole thing is about. As Church Shuttle, Chris Durham explores the relationships between Fluxus and the Midwest urban folk tradition of scrambled confusion music. Active the last several years, Durham’s playful and nihilistic compositional approach has gelled over the course of here & gone releases for Vitrine, Alien Passengers, All Gone and others.
